Connected

I met someone online.

I was just floating about in my own little world, not really knowing what I was doing.

Then I met this person who changed all of that.

We were online for ages.

And I slept quite late because it was so easy to lose track of time when we discovered we had so much in common.

Of course my girlfriend had a good laugh when I told her about this.

I got her with the first line. Hehehehe.

I'm guessing she thought it was something sinister. But I was merely referring to when I met someone playing Guild Wars last week.

She thought it was cute that I met an online friend (she finds it cute when I make friends).

But I didn't even know if it the other person was a guy a girl a polecat or a hermaphrodite. All I knew was that we were both from Perth and that we both had warrior characters and that were both slugging through the core missions to unlock skills.

I guess that's one of the cool things about the internet. You can be part of a community and interact without the prejudice on who you actually are, but more so on your online persona, which you can change quite easily! I go from Hunky chunky monkey Warrior to my Sexy monk in a few clicks.

I named my warrior after a pokemon character. My monk after ladies shoes.

But like a double edged sword of fortitude (+46 health), that anonymity could mean that i was sharing my night gaming with a fat guy who's secret fetish is warriors clad in very tight armour. *shudder*

I like the idea of the player looking more like Mariah Carey in her Touch my Body video. Coz she's hawt and a gamerz! Hehehhe.

ASL?

There was a time not so long ago (is it ten years already?), when IRC chatting was THE hawt online app for meeting people!

IRC was king.

For a couple of years I remember spending many nights loitering chatrooms playing silly trivia games and making idle conversation.

And a few times, I did meet girls who raised my eyebrow with keen interest. (oh yeah I was da man!)

Progress would be spending more nights just chatting about trivial stuff or even exchanging emails.

And one time *gasp* I even exchanged phone numbers. What a disaster that was - but thats another story.

But I always tended to shy away when they wanted pictures or they wanted to cam-chat.

I guess I just prefer the idea that they look like Mariah (touch my body). Plus I didn't really want to be starting something online. Just not my style.

But its all different now with blogging and social networking sites like MyFacester*TM. I mean, they all still offer chatting and I guess if you find someone who's profile fits your bill then you can just pop them a message.

But its so different to old-school IRC!

In IRC, there was that hidden challenge of trying to make your online persona with just ASCII characters and from what you type and say. And not knowing what a person looked like or what their friends were like were all part of what made chatting fun and appealing. That mystery and that chase. And you can talk and make connections without so much the screening on how you looked or how many friends you have or your bejeweled master score.

*Will slaps himself with a wet fish*

But I dunno. I haven't really tried socialising with strangers in MyFacester*TM

I shouldn't have to anyways. 'Coz if I did, that means I'm trawling and 'looking for potentialz' which would wrong and would upset certain parties in my currently flourishing and lovely romantic relationship *ahem *ahem. /end disclaimer.

But yeah, maybe I'm just getting old. Or too old fashioned.

Maybe there's something there in MyFacester*TM that lets people connect. I just haven't seen that yet. Probably because my profile is inundated Mafia Wars updates!!! How do I turn that off?!!

Music Trippin

Really enjoying my time in the gym lately.

But not for the actual work-out.

Or the smelly, sweaty equipment.

Or the occasional hairy ass-cracks that I unintentionally see. :P

But, I'm liking the putting on of my headphones and just getting lost in the music.

When music tripping I'm imagining the MTV for the songs and its really cool because I'm thinking these little movies in my head. Like I was listening to Marie Digby's - Miss Invisible. I'm thinking this sepia letterboxed scene with a girl wearing a black coat just sitting under the bleachers. Her hair all ruffled and she's all shy and quiet. Then the scene turns full colour when the song comes to its happy end. You'll have to listen to the song to understand what I'm talking about but yeah, you get my drift with the movies in my head.

[Sidenote - did you see what Kanye West did to Taylor Swift on the MTV VMA? Hahaha Katy Pery says "It's like you stepped on a kitten" Hahaha]

Now because I have the music on shuffle I'm getting all sorts of genres popping up in my head. The problem is when listening to sexy RnB songs.

Unfortunately they don't leave much for the imagination. Like Trey Songz's "I Invented Sex" or Bobby Valentino's "Butterfly Tattoo" . Suddenly I'm picturing hot women with butterfly tattoos doin' the nasty?!

Hmmm.

Thankfully there's always hairy old men around to counter with unsexy thoughts. :P

Speaking of RnB I revealed to my girlfriend lately that I have a man crush on Ne-yo.

Just look at them phat lips

Hahaha.

But no, I don't want to kiss his lips. I just admire his talent. He sings awesome and has dance moves to boot.

Plus I like his style.

I'm thinking of getting a Ne-yo hat very soon..... saw them in Roger David. Maybe it might give me pullin' powers.

But I'm especially digging his unreleased song "If You Want Me to Stay". Man, this song is just da bomb! If you have a sound system with some decent bass - you gotta crank this sh!t up! The intro gets me all the time and I love the beeps during the pre-chorus. Great melody, great song (made up for not doing the Aussie tour!).

But one musician I have a real crush on is Colbie Callait!

Wasn't a big fan of her bubbly song, but after listening to her Breakthrough album, fell for her voice! She sings so well and clearly (I listen to her before I sleep and pretend she's singing to me).

Now her songs might be cheesy, but that's how I like 'em. :)
And have you seen her video for Fallin For You? From this, it looks like I still have a chance.

Maybe after I get the Ne-yo hat.

September Indulgence

September is the fattening month.

Lots of birthdays means lots of celebrations.

And lots of celebrations means lots of food!

Tie that together with Father's day celebrations and you've got yourself a month long food fest.

But who cares :P

Its their birthdays and I'll get fat if I want to :)

This is how we celebrated my mom's bday this month. With the traditional celebration food...

KFC and RICE!!
YUMMEEEH!! Make sure you get gravy on them rice :P

Speaking of good food, check out my candy corner at work :P

Now I never get annoyed with difficult people!

Because a difficult person is only a marshmallow away...

...or picnic

..or snickers

..or milkyway.

:P

Cuddlee

I got my Cuddlee blankets!!

Oh Yeaaah!! Who's your daddy!!!!

For those who don't know, Cuddlees are blankets with sleeves. Why sleeves?

Here's a scenario - Its a cold evening and you're watching TV snuggled under your blanket. You want to change the channel because the show is finished and now they're showing discussion time in Parliament. To change the channel you need to take the blanket off because you can't see the remote buttons. So what do you do?!!! Lose the warm coziness or watch three hours of parliamentarian debate?

WHAT DO YOU DO?!!! PANIC?!!

NO!

The answer is Cuddlee!! YAAAAY!!

Blanket with sleeves! It lets you do stuff with your hands whilst staying under the warm comfort of your blanket.

The Cuddlee is quite big. It wraps my girlfriend twice over.

I know, I know. You're thinking "oh gawd.. how dweeeby!"

And you might be right. The Cuddlee is definitely 'different looking'.

Its like a backwards cape.... with a pouch.

But for what it lacks in fashion, it certainly makes up for cozy warmness!!!
Its sooo warm and gooooooood.

It makes you feel loved :)

My girlfriend didn't' want to take it off after watching a movie with it. And I'm using it right now as I write this post! I use it all the time when playing games or watching movies. Definitely a good buy!

Now I saw a guy in a suburban shopping centre sell one of these for $20. Good thing I stopped myself because Catch of the Day had them on sale. I got two delivered for 20 ducks!

You have to be careful where you buy it though. There's a few fakes going around. The fakes have no pouches. And you simply can't have a Cuddlee without a pouch! That's just plain weird. :)

So yeah, get yourself a Cuddlee now! And may the warmth be be with you! Amen!

Countdown Begins

Counting down the days.

:)
