Unseriously

Miss Bossy was spot on with her post.

During my single days, I use to say the same thing.  Why do girls go gugu for the stupid man-beef-block-heads all the time.   I'm a nice guy! I open doors, I change my underwear (sometimes).  Why weren't girls Googling me?

I originally thought it was a confidence thing. Just being more confident makes you more attractive.  Lots of hair gel, doing exercises before going out (to temporarily beef up the muscles),

But Miss Bossy's post nailed it right on the head - you gotta be interesting! Keeping things un-boring will have people gravitate to me.  And it worked!  I caught myself a girl using octopus hotdogs!

Anyways.  Its been a very random day so I'll continue with some very random pics from the last few weeks.

I was eying the meaty slices amongst the very green pizza box.

Does anyone know where I can get Melon breads? I LOVE melon bread!

Penguins from Madagascar, Universal Studios Singapore.  Hahaha. I love the little kid's expression on the right.

I haven't been blogging because I was busy playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. OMG What an epic game!  Nearly wet my pants when I played The Gulag Level.  Its a level similar to the The Rock (my favourite action movie). Only thing missing was Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery.  I also finished Deep Space. OmG THAT was scary!

Fish foot spa in Times Square, Kuala Lumpur.  The fishies were ticklish.  The experience was enjoyable until they cornered us and started selling skin remover potions $100 a bottle!

Thank You Day

Happy Thanksgiving day to everyone! :)

Although Thanksgiving is not really something I celebrate, I think it makes for a great time to give thanks to the wonderful people and things who surrounding me, for making my life that little bit more special. So a big thanks to:

1. Jaws kaiten Sushi for having fried chicken in your sushi train. You have created deep-fried happiness drowned in spicy Japanese mayo.
Can we ride the train?

2. Tony and Kim for having an incredibly fun wedding. You've given me so much to look forward to on my wedding.

3. Thank you Dad. You have taught me so much and continue to do so. I really enjoyed our lunch date.

4. Thank you Chelsea for running with me every Monday afternoons. I know I don't give you much opportunity to sniff other dog butts, but you still love me all the same. More meaty bites for you.
warf!

5. Thanks DJ Al for games nights and Resident Evil. I hope we don't see anymore of those freaky things that we can only shoot when its' stomach opens.

Chris Redfield is such a perv. Look where he's looking.

6. Thank you Anh for agreeing to marry me. Is it too late to back out now? Love you.
.. is where the heart is.

7. Thank you Chilliz for my $4.30 Honey Chicken Rice lunch. You have given hope to under $5 lunchers like me.

8. Thank you Naruto Shippuden. You continue to inspire me to be a ninja.
Sasuke and Itachi battle is epic!! It has eye gouging and giant fireballs

9. Thank you Steam for my new skin whitening treatment.

10. And thank you for the music, for giving it to me.

Octooober

Before I post the BIGGEST THING EVER TO HAPPEN TO ME! I thought I'd post the little things that made my month of October. Save the best for last. :P

*****************
Our house went from having nine people running around like lunatics (everything was frantic during my brother's wedding) to just three people now.

And its really quite shocking how quiet the house has become.

I blame it my little nephews. They're so loud, always running around screaming and crying. You kinda get used to it after a while, but it goes weird when they're not there.

***************
ICE CREAM!!!

For some weirdly reason, there's been a lot of ice cream eating around my household this month.
Its like every dinner someone would should out "Ice cream?!" Not that its a bad thing, just weird because ice cream was a contraband in our house for its high sugar and fat content. Now its like ice cream day every day!

My brother introduce us to this brand of ice cream - available from Fresh Provisions.
SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOODDDD!!!

Also available from Fresh Provisions is this - Hershey's Choco Syrup!!
SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOODDD!!

***************
First Aid

Anh and I did a first aid course together.

Learning what to do when people choke, how to tie up a bandage and sling, what to do in emergency - all good stuff!!

But I don't know about the take-home dummy to practice CPR though... that was a bit crappy. And the course itself was too rushed. It tried to cover a lot of theory and practical stuff in the one day. Thankfully we've both done some sort of training before so it didn't go over our head.

Now I just have to remember to order the first aid kits.

But what was really cute/cool/funny was us being in the same class together. We were like high school kids with little desks and paper and such. Then we had lunch together, we shared notes, compared test scores, then we both put each other in the recovery position.

:)

May Randoms

I'm loving this month of May.

I'm getting a very positive vibe with all the new things that's happening.

One of them things is getting my Krudd stimulus package :P  Happy days!  Nothings beats getting money for nothing!

Needless to say, April was a shocking month for me.  Sickness crippled me and made work and home life very phlegmmy and miserable.

*********************
Food!!!

Salmon pasta @ Mulluloo Beach Hotel
Steamboat @ Shilla Korean BBQ
Pancakes @ Wild Fig

Totally loving the episodes of Masterchef.  I can't wait for an episode when someone cooks something and totally blows away the judges on how spectacular the dish with anime style reactions where they faint or fly or something hehehe.

Short Changed

"That'lll be $10.80" said the girl behind the counter.

$10.80 for bubble tea and bread at Utopia Myaree.

Man, I hate this addiction for flavoured water with jelly bits.

I give the girl with the orange bandanna $15. She takes the notes and continues to press some buttons on the register.

"Um... do you have 80 cents?" She asks nervously.

"Nopes.  Sorry that's all I've got"

"Because we don't' have any change"

And that's when the staring game started.

We just both stood there staring at each other.

Not in a Oh-my-god-I-can-see-through-your-eyes-that-you're-my-destiny-my-love-my-everything romantic kinda of stare.

On the contrary, I was giving her a commanding stare.  I was trying to get her to find some change or just say 'don't worry about the eighty cents".

And I was also secretly staring at the pimples clumping on her cheeks.  They've grown quite big and very purple.  Kinda like little berries.

I was wondering if pimple juice ever get into the bubble tea she serves.

She, on the other hand was giving me puppy dog eyes, searching for a lifeline to this difficult situation.

For what seemed like a ten second eternity, my pimple staring left eye stumbled across the tips jar brimming with coins.

"Can't you just use that?" pointing at the tip jar? (I lost the staring game)

Her eyes widened, she stepped backed crying "No.  Noo.. NOOOOO!"

As if I just put an evil curse on her by suggesting something so blasphemous as touching the tips jar.

Thankfully the other staff member watching remedied the situation by grabbing a handful of coins from the tips jar and replaced it with the $5 note.

Change given, crisis aborted.

Too bad the she's cursed now.

****************
Last night, I used my monthly Maccas quota and ordered myself a Big mac meal drive thru (I was gunning for the CRV in their Drive-thru-to-win promotion)

I know its bad, but I'm also addicted to the special sauce and plastic cheese.

The stocky guy at the window took my $10 note and asked

"We've run out of five cent coins, is that alright?"

He's suggesting he short changes me and is checking if I'll be alright with that.

Now I had two choices.

I could say:

A - yeah thats cool. Rip me off five cents, but im down with that.

or

B - no, its not alright.  As an establishment who has failed to project the coin usage for that day, I think they should at least try to appease their customer by giving me more change rather than less.  By making me happy, they increase the likeliness of me returning (although my addiction for the orange special sauce and plastic cheese gives them the upper hand).  And if you think about it, five cents, for the individual might not be much, but if they shortchange every one of the million of customers they serve daily, then you're talking big bucks.  I for one, will not stand at this injustice.  Who can say that this guy isn't in fact pocketing the five cents and making a lucrative business for himself by hi-jacking customer five cents.  Most importantly, its the principle of things.  I should get the correct amount of change for the money I've given.  Its a basic principle of sale.  But to suggest something so bodacious as ripping myself off?!! Crazy right?

So of course I opted for option A.
Five cents annoy me because I can't use the coins for parking.

And when I get home, I open up my brown bag, only to find the FRENCH FRIES WERE MISSING!!!

NOOOOOOOO!!

:(

Tres Lecciones del amor

I was having one of them long days.

I got up at five and had to do stuff for my house before the electricians came.
Then traffic to work.
Took ages to find parking.
I got to my desk and looked at my diary.
Three meetings, internal audit and phone calls to make.
What a fun day this was turning out

*sigh*

I needed to ZHHHINGGG my day, anything to make it more special.

ZHHINNNGG!!!!!

I re-discovered my Christmas KK present!!!

It was hidden in the bottom drawer of my desk!  Its a hot chocolate pack which has everything you need for a nice cup of hot choco.  Its got a mug, choco powder and the best part - Mini-marshmallows!

I was grinning from ear to ear.

With this, I could take over the world!  I could be the most popular guy in the tea-room (just for one day!).

Power through marshmallows!

But when I looked at the marshmallow pack, I realised it wasn't a resealable.
Once opened, left over marshmallows would be left to dry up and harden.

I only need about five or so for my first cup, but if I open the pack now, the remaining thirty or so would have to go stale!

The economist in me said 'no deal'!

So I ended up having my choco with no floaties.  :(

What an uneventful day.

Love Lesson: Love can end before it begins.  Jump in when the oppurtunity arises.

*********

Went to Karaoke last Saturday. I had a good time because I got to hang out with FC and co.

But I couldn't help this uneasy feeling around the place.

Partly because I've been privy to information that's exposed the complicated web tying the friends together.  There's so much complication and history left unresolved.
And the idiosyncrasies which, I would have otherwise missed, have become all too apparent.

It would have been a much happier time if love, and life turned out differently.

If only.

Love Lesson:  Love is like a roller coaster.  It goes up and down.  And sometimes, you even throw up.

*********

Me and three boys had our monthly man dinner last wednesday.

We met at Shimizu Grand.  The $42 fee got me a glass of wine and all you can eat Japanese buffet.

It was alright.  Good value if you like sashimi and eel sushi.

We got to talking about what we were getting our partners on Valentines day.

One was not sure.  His original plan was to do nothing.  But he's now upgraded to a card.  Apparently its complicated.

One just came back from his honeymoon so he assumes his exempt from Valentines day duty.   I don't like his chances.

One is taking his girl to a special dinner. He admits that he's playing his last remaining romance cards.  He's taken her to all the swanky places in Perth.  So its getting harder and harder to impress her.  I'm guessing it won't be long before he finally gives in and plays the Ace of diamond.

Me, I'm hanging off the girlfriend's Day Spa pampering birthday present which she awesomely booked for Valentines day.

My gift for her is me.

See I created a demand for me by making her miss me.

I only had short conversations with her this week. Hardly any emails and little texting.   And on Saturday I will give her the thing she wants the most - me!!

Haha! One point - me, Valentines day blues - zero.

Love Lesson: love is blind, because its unconditional - doesn't matter lame we are

January Randoms

Been having the most stressful two days.

And I'm blaming it all on the house air-conditioning salesman!!

Long story short, the incompetent salesman (*ahem *ahem Season Makers in Balcatta), told me the wrong day of installation.

This caused - metaphorically speaking,  a stream of dog doodoos hitting the proverbial fan.

So very very annoying.

Thankfully there was a new episode of Naruto on Crunchy Roll.  Anime calms me down :P

And Wonder Girls. Hahahaha.

This video of traffic police officers doing the Wonder Girls dance cracked me up. Watch the guy on the right!

On to more positive and exciting news!!

My friend is getting married tomorrow!! Imagine that!

And I'm co-best man!  Imagine that!!
He must have been drunk because he asked me.

Hahahaha, poor guy - were going to roast him on our speech.

We got the suit yesterday and its all looking good.

Me doing the KC

Its so hot wearing so many layers though. Hopefully we don't melt.

Good luck to us!  FIGHTING!

World Apart

3Willings
1) Little Big Planet
3) Fallout 3

A bit of hope doesn’t hurt anyone. But as much as we might like all men to be paragons of strength and honour and all women to be wise, patient and faithful; life is not a romance novel.

These lines from my daily read struck me quite hard.

Ok, maybe life isn't a romance novel, but surely people are striving to be the good right?

Am I in denial? Am I the only one working to make this statement untrue?

I go to bed thinking all the guys are doing their best to be paragons of strength and honour. Coz that's what I aim to be.
And I hope the lasses out there are striving to be wise, patient and faithful.

But reality and the media are throwing my fairy tale world apart.

I'm starting to think that it really is a lost cause.

Dear Santa

3Willings
1) Code Geass
2) Crysis
3) Sega Dreamchick

Dear Santa,

Its been a while since I last wrote to you. About 20 or so years? You only have my dad to blame for that. He told me that you didn't really exist and that you were a marketing icon made up by Coca-Cola.

But hey, if you were real, then I would have missed out on so many years of Christmas presents!

So that's the purpose of this letter. To give you an update on if I've been bad or good, so you can decide to grant my Christmas wishes or not.

If you ask me, I wouldn't really know if I've been bad or good this year.

I'd like to think I've been good. But I guess that depends entirely on which side of the fence you sit on.

There's a few times I know I've been bad.

Like during the Iron Chef Night I had with friends. We were all suppose to cook a mint dish, and then we all score each other's dish in the end.

It was suppose to be friendly competition. But I got a bit obsessed. I was hoping everyone's dish would suck. That kind of mentality got me in the end. 2nd last is pretty disappointing.

Next time rather than thinking "I wish all their dishes turn bad, so I'll win", I'll behave and think, "I wish all the dishes turn good so we can all have a great dinner".

My Iron Chef dish, Crumbed pork rolled in Udon and Mint leaf

There's a few groups out there who probably think I'm a bad person.

Like the teenagers who run up to my car on traffic intersections to clean my windscreen and demand money.

They always end screaming that I'm a greedy person. Its not so much the swearing or the fact that they're using what they earn to buy cigarettes, but the fact that they do such a bad job that I stop myself from helping them out. I mean, if I opened a can of baked beans and smeared it on my windscreen, it would still be more visible than the work they do.

Then there's this guy who probably thinks I'm the scum of the earth.

He's the man I sold a television to during swap mart.

He looked me in the eyes and asked "Is this really working?". He was staring right into my soul and I outright LIED to him!!

I said "YUP! I'm pretty sure it works completely", with a smile.

This knowing that that channel 8, 9 only appears in black and white. But my girlfriend insists that its still working (because the composite inputs all work fine). Still, I'm on a 2 year hiatus from swap marts just in case the guy comes back with a machete or wanting his $15 back.

There's also a few dudes in Guildwars that hate me.

I've joined random parties where the players were rude and demand so much. I purposely didn't heal them and they eventually died and got pissed off. Hehehe I think its funny. But I guess from their point of view I'm a bad apple.

I won't even mention the stuff I've downloaded on the net.

The girlfriends of the guys I'm going to Thailand with, probably think I'm the Minister of sinister. That I'd selfishly take their partners away to a remote exotic location for debauchery and partying.

I'm going for the 'distance makes the heart grow fonder approach here'. Hopefully when reunited with partners after the trips, they'd all recognise what I've done for them.

Or maybe not.

Thankfully there's a lot of good in me that you can count on.

I've done so many good things this year that I can't even recall one of them. I'm sure you know most of them.

Like...

Like..

Like stuff, you know. I'm sure you pick it up on your good behaviour radar all the time.
But yeah, I wouldn't want to bore you with that.

So now for my wish list!!

See the attacked booklet for the things that I want.
And you don't have to worry about delivering to me on Christmas. I'm quite happy to accept it express post.

Thanks Santa,
Will

The world is falling apart

3Willings
1) Hersheys Kisses
2) Ne-yo - Mad
3) Super Mario Galaxy

If you've been hiding under a rock the past few weeks, you should know that the world is in shambles. Financial institutions in the US has caused global financial stocks stumbling.

At first it didn't really bother me. I mean, how could something in Wall street affect me?

Then I found out that I'm losing lots of money in my superannuation.

Yikes.

Lucky for me I'm still (relatively) young. Pity for those close to retirement.

The market drop of 5% last monday could be a $30,000 loss to someone's retirement money.

That would hurt.

********

But what was really scary was the crash of September 28.

I was playing Guildwar with my friends.

My phone gave a warning chime saying it was running out of juice. So I plugged it in to my laptop to USB charge it. Nothing new here, I've done this thousands of times.

But then there was this 'tik' sound before my laptop went completely dead! I tried numerous times but I couldn't restart my lappy.

I removed the battery, shook the laptop. wiggled the power cords. Nothing!

I suspected the overheat controller stopped it from starting again because the laptop was pretty was hot.

And I was right!

After a few minutes cooling down it restarted again.... but I could smell burnt electronics!

Anyways, to cut a LONG LONG LONG story short, a faulty USB hub (which was giving me tingling sensations when I touch it) killed my laptop USB controllers. Now all my USB ports are dead.

The laptop gets hot very quickly now and it seems to crash more often. Its reached the end.

My laptop has become a fire hazard

*********

The same USB hub that killed my laptop also almost killed my phone.

Because the laptop USBs were dead, I charged my phone using the USB hub. This before I discovered the hub was the culprit.

The next day, my phone was blinking all funny and it didn't want to start up!!

NooooOOO I screamed!!!

Frustrated, I left the phone and did something else instead.

Lucky for me, that afternoon my phone started working again.

But it was a close call.

I already had ebay open looking for a new phone.

********

I bore holes on two jackets this week.

********

They also found some problems with the Hadron Collider.

Everything seems to be falling apart this week. Must be end of warranty season.

The bad week and the bbq pork buns

3Willings

After Sydney, I think I fell into a hole of messed-up-ness.

Daaamn! Its been an awful week! Weather's been gross, my gums hurt and stupid freaking LAN games don't work!

Stress bombs are dropping left-right and centre! And to makes things worse - my bonsai is dying!! :(

Its like the lord of crapiness did a #2 then buried me in it.

Thankfully love always saves the day.

My girlfriend came back last weekend and it was really nice to see her again (after two weeks separation).

It was unfortunate that she was a bit sick. I was given a 1-meter restraining order so I couldn't catch her disease. Plus her soar throat made her sound like a man. She had a manlier voice than I did!

She was about as sexy as the gurgling sounds she makes when she blows her nose. All she did on the weekend was sleep, sneeze, cough and sleep some more. Luckily she wasn't making snot bubbles while she was snoring. :P

But I love her and it was really good to see her :)
Seeing and talking to her always turns my world for the better.

Hopefully next time I see her she won't be so pasty looking :P

Anyways, below is what I made for her for valentines.
Presenting - my special BBQ pork buns of love (TM)!!

She gave me some bbq pork buns to snack on
But rather than eat them, carved them out instead..

...and turned them to love buns!

I should've used tabasco sauce for colouring. The it would be the 'spicy hot BBQ Pork buns of love(TM)'!!!

Bipolar New Year

3 Great news for the new year:
1) Final Fantasy 13 will come with 3 episodes!! YAY!! :P
2) The HD-DVD and Blu-Ray war is almost over!! YAY!
3) I'm heading to Japan in 2008!!

One word to describe my new year - 'bipolar'

It's only been a week into 2008 and I've already had more ups and downs than the stock market on steroids.

First off was New Year's Eve.

New year's eve was fun.

We had Japanese at Halu followed by some big nuts for dessert. Then we got our groove on at Ruby room. It was packed with mostly guys and old-ish people. They made the few eye candies look even better (or maybe that was the beer goggles). We overheard the funniest conversation when we were wandering around.
Girl: "Have you seen my earings?"
Guy: "No! have you seen my d***?! " Hahah. It's so gangsta its funny.

The not so funny ganstas

When we got home, I found out that my uncle had just passed away.

I didn't know if I was nauseated by the ice cream and vodka mixing in my stomach or by the fact that such a close family member had died.

I was sad and drunk and tired and confused all at the same time.

The next morning I woke to the worst chest pain EVER!

My stomach and heart felt like it was being crushed by a vise. At first I didn't want to wake up my girlfriend (coz real men can stand the pain!! Ahu! Ahu!) But then it struck me that I didn't even have the breath to call out to her. I was struggling to breathe and she was there snorring away.

I managed to wake her by pulling on her leg. She found me curled up on the floor.

She was really worried at first (i'd be freaked out too if I found my partner on the floor curled up in pain). Luckily the pain didn't last too much longer. Maybe she has healing hands? who knows?

Apparently I had gastritis.

After that incident I promised myself not to drink so much again....
.
.
.
.

Thats a promise lasted about fout nights until I went to Ben's bucks/stag night.

The evil tequila worm! I EAT YOU!

Another promise I broke that night was my no fast food diet new years resolution plan. It couldn't not be helped.

I didn't have a car to run away with and the only food served was KFC.
So two promises broken in one night. Not a good start for the year.

But speaking of promises, I was lucky enough to be a part of good friends' Tony and Kim's marriage proposal.

It was funny because the groom-to-be was shaking. He was so nervous. But he did well (because she said yes).

I think I was shaking for him as well.
Sympathy shakes I call it.
Red was the theme for the proposal, although the ring was put in a pink rose...

Its been an odd first week.
Maybe odd is a better word than bipolar.

Stale

3Willings:
1 - Prince of Tennis. Buuuurning!
2 - Pizza I made using the Ultimate Pizza Sauce
3 - Gimme More Lame video, but this song is off the hook!

Probably one of the things I fear the most is going stale.

And I don't mean shrivelled saggy nip-tuck kind of stale, I mean stale - not moving, stagnant kind of stale.

My fridge experiment - I call this piece "untouched tomato"

Being 'stuck in a rut' as they say.

In Jim Thorton's article "You are in Rutsville - Time for a change?" he quotes an experiment where 36 rats were put in three different environment.

The "impoverished" environment put rats in solitary confinement. There was the "standard" environment where the rats share a larger room and there was the "enriched" environment where the rats have a large room with toys and wheels, mazes and ladders - a Disneyland for rats.

A month later the rats' brains were examined and unsurprisingly - the rats in the enriched environment had thicker brain cortex's and the solitary confinement rats had shriveled brains.
The conclusion - activity and stimulation in the brain equals good. Non-activity and stimulation equals shrivelness.

And we all know guys don't like shrivelness.

Lettuce left for long periods start to ferment in their own juices

I put the Inert in Inertia

The last few months that's what I've been feeling.

Stuck in a rut.

I've been caught up in the fanfare of everyone else's affairs, its left me with little time to pursue my own personal endeavours.

Thankfully that time has now passed.

Last time we ate this dish it didn't have cotton on it

Fresh new stuff are on its way.

Big Two

Were sitting around the table playing Big 2.
Three guys and the new girlfriend.
The girlfriend is quite at home with us three. She smiles and jokes and fills up our honey coated peanut tray when needed.
And she's really good! She's won the last three games. Which is freaky considering she's only learnt how to play four months ago.
Then one of the guys gives out a loud belch.
Bluaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrpp
It was a good burp.
It had a deep bass which reverberated quite nicely from the oesophagus and oral cavity. His mouth focused it well with a good play of both lips and tongue. The duration was not too short but not too long. And the finish was mildly 'wet' but was kept to a minimal.
I gave it a 7/10.
And it was of course, quite gross.
I think the worse part was the digested chilly pepper squid and apple cider after-smell that followed.
(Being impressed by the burp doesn't mean I approve of the habit.. or after smell)
The girlfriend looked at him and screamed
'eww!! that's gross!!', then hitting his arm.
He chucked.
'say excuse me!'

'no! why do I need to say excuse me when you've said it for me' he sniggered.

'because that was rude and gross'

'I don't need to say excuse me...'he murmured
They stared at each other.

The mini discourse ended there.
He finished it off with a I can do anything I want - don't tell me what to do biiaaatchh' face .
And she with a "I'm so embarrassed to be associated with this pig' you look on her face.'
I cleared my throat and looked at my last two cards.
Three of spades and a jack of diamonds.

Reward System

It was only when I saw it used on her little sister did I become aware of her powers.

Kinda like Louise Lane discovering Clark Kent's powers.

Only that my girlfriend is not Superman, and me not Louise Lane.

What I saw was my girlfriend using a reward system on her little sister.

A reward system is a behavioral tool that can be used to brainwash train kids.

It can be of many forms but what my girlfriend made was a chart which listed all the things her little sister needed to do during the week. Every day of good behaviour gets a tick. Get the whole week done and she gets a reward.

The reward is probably a Bratz doll, because eight year old girls idolise skanky girls nowadays.

Of course behavioral tools are not new.
My sister uses stuff she's learned from the "Super nanny" to tame her toddler.

And it works.

My nephew cries at the thought of being banished to the naughty chair.
(Which is strange because adults would jump at the opportunity to be in the naughty chair).

Anyways, I digress.

What surprised me was my girlfriend was using psychological and behavioral control tools to condition her little sister.

And if this works on a 8 year old girl who beats me in Uno, then I'm finding myself increasingly vulnerable to my girlfriends super powers.

Me - very susceptible to mind control

Hair cut

The barber asked me what cut I wanted.

I kinda just sat there dumbfounded.

Haircut.. umm.... Can I call a friend?

"number two ... at the sides??
and maybe a three on the top? .."'

Hang on.. that's what my brother gets. Ooops.
I think its because he gets the same hair cut all the time that's why I remember that.
Where as I don't.

My effeminate Iraqi barber pouted his wet lips and disagreed.
"No..no no.. that won't do.. thats too short.. number three is like this,"
and he bowed down to show me his crown. "You wan't it to look like this?"

Helll no! I screamed in my head. Don't want my head looking like a monkey's breast.

"I'll esskissor cut the top ohhkaaay.."
"Um.. alright.. sounds good.."

****

As you can see, I don't really fuss about my hair. If it looks nice that would be a plus, but if its not... oh well.. at least I get to live another day.

For some people a change in hairstyle means a change in lifestye. Deep. But haircuts definitely give a fresh new look into life. Thats probably why after a failed relationship most people get their hair re-done. A change in the head crop helps with the healing and change inside I guess.

But we should be having a fresh outlook to life everyday! Don't need break-ups to do that!

hehehee.

I'm actually not that energetically optimistic.
I'm just trying to find an excuse for my weird hair patterns.

I get my hair cut from all over the place. One time its from a barber, one time from a hairstylist, one time from my mom and once in a while (if I'm desperate and I'm starting to harbor nits) my brother cuts my hair. I just go with whatever's convenient (or on special that day). Thus putting me on the other end of the spectrum of some people I know.

But whatever makes people happy right?

I have a box at home with hair products recommended by various people who's cut my hair.

I've got wax, gels, putty, jelly, hairspray, jelly-wax, putty-wax, gel spray, putty-jelly. They have a mat finish or can be oil-slick shinny. The hair hold strength varies from feather touch to rock-solid industrial-cement grade super crunchy hard.

And I've hardly used any of them. Most of them have discoloured already, but I've kept 'em for special occasions. To which I'd use a dab from each pot and make a nice mix of 'special occasion magic gel'. Its a secret recipe (its also a stain and rust remover, lubricant, dental whitener, but is very flammable).

In the end it doesn't really matter for me.

If Brad Pitt can get away with any hair cut, I can get away with any hair cut (*ahem *ahem Brad Pitt and I are on the same league in good lookingness).

While on the topic of grooming, my girlfriend laughed at me because I use my lynx shower gel as my full body cleansing solution.

Why do I need a shampoo, conditioner, soap, facial cleanser when a fully body gel does all of it in one go? The way I look at it, soap removes dirt.
And dirt doesn't differentiate if it wants to land on your face or your hair or your belly button.

So one soap to clean it all I reckon.

Movers

Moved In

"What is it like now that you've moved together?"

I was expecting 'yeah, it’s good. We get to do all sorts of things' or something along those lines. Instead, she said,

"Hmm.. We don’t' talk that much any more.."

And her boyfriend continued with

"yeah, we pretty much do our own thing. She watches her shows and I watch my things.."

Not exactly the answer I was expecting. I would think, once you've moved in, then you'd do more things together. That's the purpose of moving in right? To get closer with each other.

Instead, I got a feeling they formed their own mini worlds where she does her things and he does his.

Your things and my things. Your side and my side.

Moving Out

My sister and family are moving to Sydney.

Its great news coz my bro-in-law is movin' on up the corporate ladder of one of the big four (or is it five) accounting firms.

It will be sad to see my sister and my nephews go though. The two little runts are growing up so fast already.

But it won’t be so bad. They promised to visit often (or maybe I visit them?! :P) But by gosh! Rent in Sydney is farking ridiculous! It’s much cheaper for me to buy two Nintendo Wii's per week!

Moved

I think there’s something wrong with me.

I was watching the Simpson’s movie and in the part where Homer is watching Marge's video,
a big lump formed in my throat and I found it really really really hard to swallow.

Damn that song!

Same thing happens every time I watch the end of Pixar's Cars.

When Lightning McQueen gives up the Piston Cup to help 'the King' finish up the race.

I've seen it thousands and thousands of times, but I always get moved by this scene.

'Ka-chow'.

Romance and Chivalry

I missed the joke.
I attended a professional development course and most of its attendants were female managers (eheemm... and a few cute clerks). During one of the group activities, the question was asked:

'If the sales for a new perfume range set for Christmas was delayed, what could you do?'

Everyone was coming up with things like talking to upper management or expediting manufacture or changing suppliers. I answered

'how about you market it for valentines day instead?'

Everyone cracked up. I dunno what was funny.

"Hmm.. there's ten or so women here and you're the only one that came up with that idea Will. You must be quite a romantic."

I chuckled, "hehehe, i dunno, you have to ask my girlfriend".

I dunno where I read it from, I think from this blog, but there's was a post about what men should do when the girl they're with get overly drunk.

What I mean by overly drunk is when they've had a lot to drink, get hyper for a bit, then eventually pass out.

Should you take care of them? or take advantage of situation?

I love this response:

"when you're with a girl who's drunk, then that's the perfect time to exercise chivalry"

I totally agree.

Its a moment to have her peacefully sleep in your arms. It feels quite nice to take care of them. Tucking them in, making sure they're warm. Then wiping the dribble off their lips and watch them snore the night away.

Heroes Test

Your Score: Zach

You scored 41 Idealism, 58 Nonconformity, 41 Nerdiness

You gotta embrace your inner freak. 'Cause the only thing you'll regret is denying who you really are.

Congratulations, you're Zach! You're nerdy, strange, slightly snarky, and proud of it! You're also a nice guy and really trustworthy friend. Any cheerleader (or, well, anyone) should consider his or herself extremely fortunate to be friends with a person like you.

Your best quality: You're an all-around great friend
Your worst quality: You don't get along well with annoying little brothers
