Drive Home

Don't get us wrong.

We don't mind driving.

But a topic which struck a chord during one of our regular MSG (Men Support Group) dinners was the drive home.

You see, its quite common for the guy in a relationship to drive the girl around. Has nothing to do with us guys not wanting to be seen in the passenger seat of a girly-girl car.

Or that we don't trust your driving.

It's about us wanting you to just relax, sit and enjoy and let us worry about the traffic, parking, fuel and rage associate with driving (this doesn't work with my girl, because I constantly nag her for directions).

But one thing that did bother my support group friends (and something that bothered me before) was our girls refusing us go home early.

Here's what I mean.

Its a weekday, guy picks up girl at her workplace, they go out to dinner, they both have a good time. Around 10pm, he drives out of his way to drop her off. When when he gives her the goodnight kiss - she gives the sad puppy dog pout for leaving her there.

*pout *pout *don't leave me *pout *pout

!!!!?!!?!!!!

So he does the 'right' thing and stay awhile. They talk, watch TV and spend more quality time together. And only when she starts yawning, will it be okay for him to go home.

When its already midnight.

So the guy in the story now needs to drive home, tired and just wanting to get to bed. And its often too tempting to get back home quickly by giving the car a bit more juice than needed.

This happened to me a few times and I was really quite surprised how many of my guy friends go through with this. They were like "ZOMG I go through the exact same thing!!!! Do you get McDonald's drive-thru too?"

We realised that if it was the other way around, in that our girlfriend dropped us home, we'd be wanting them driving home before the sun went down.

We wouldn't want them staying and driving so late because we know there's heaps of tired and crazy drivers then.

Weekend Review

Had the bestest weekend ever. I'm really really grateful for my girlfriend for having made it possible (she's getting extra icing on her birthday cake for this!)

It all started with Shannon Noll last Friday!

I remember when I first heard about Shannon's concert and I told her about it, she told me she didn't want go.

You should have seen how sad I looked (like a puppy dog about to cry).

But thankfully she surprised me a few weeks later with the tickets! Yay :P

I'm a big fan of Shannon Noll's music. I think there's a distinct sadness in his voice which really touches me. His first album we had playing in our house over and over again (I think we were too lazy to change it, but it was quite good in that it didn't annoy us).

I remember nearly crying when I saw his music video, the whole father-son thing was too much!

But yeah, when you hear Shannon talk, he's such a goose. He's always a comedian and he's very down to earth. But even though he sounds funny, his voice is the real deal.

I posted my favourite song from his concert here.

Saturday, I did some stuff for my friends about to get married and then spent the afternoon training. In the evening we had Chinese banquet followed by some much over-due clubbing!

We checked out Eve at Burswood. Its pretty much the same club it replaced (Ruby). The crowd looks nicer, thanks to improved dress standards. But judging from the Sprite-showering we got from a psycho-girl PMSing, the crowd is probably just as feral.

We migrated to Metros afterwards.

I must say, not having been there for a while, I was very impressed! They've lifted the dress standards and have changed music format. But I'm most impressed with the new carpet! Suddenly you didn't have to use your hands help your legs move across the club. The floor was also so sticky!

And Sunday was bestest. No hangovers and just a very lazy day with my elf girlfriend.

Elf
Good times indeed.

Crying

3Willings

A Moment to Remember: Watch with tissues (for your girlfriend)

I must be doing something very wrong these past few days.

It seems that every time I see my girlfriend she ends up crying.

It's not that I try to hurt her or anything.

(Well.. maybe that one time last monday when I ACCIDENTALLY threw a water bomb at full pelt at her face.

We were playing a game okay!
It was purely accidental. Thankfully the swelling went down)

Or maybe she's going through an emotional period (no pun intended :P) .

I guess girls and crying just go hand in hand.

A week ago at the end of Miss Saigon I found myself surround by lots and lots of females with the water works on. I've never experienced synchronised mass crying before. It was very weird.

But secretly, I think I like it when a girl cries.

Not the same way Enrique likes it.
Or maybe yes to that too.

But what I mean, is when a girl cries during a sad movie or how happy they are. Its such a girly thing to do, its cute.

Now I've met 'big girls don't cry' girls before and they kinda off putting. Usually they're the sarcastic type. Don't like them.

I feel threatened by them.

Probably 'coz they have more facial hair than me.

The bad week and the bbq pork buns

3Willings

After Sydney, I think I fell into a hole of messed-up-ness.

Daaamn! Its been an awful week! Weather's been gross, my gums hurt and stupid freaking LAN games don't work!

Stress bombs are dropping left-right and centre! And to makes things worse - my bonsai is dying!! :(

Its like the lord of crapiness did a #2 then buried me in it.

Thankfully love always saves the day.

My girlfriend came back last weekend and it was really nice to see her again (after two weeks separation).

It was unfortunate that she was a bit sick. I was given a 1-meter restraining order so I couldn't catch her disease. Plus her soar throat made her sound like a man. She had a manlier voice than I did!

She was about as sexy as the gurgling sounds she makes when she blows her nose. All she did on the weekend was sleep, sneeze, cough and sleep some more. Luckily she wasn't making snot bubbles while she was snoring. :P

But I love her and it was really good to see her :)
Seeing and talking to her always turns my world for the better.

Hopefully next time I see her she won't be so pasty looking :P

Anyways, below is what I made for her for valentines.
Presenting - my special BBQ pork buns of love (TM)!!

She gave me some bbq pork buns to snack on
But rather than eat them, carved them out instead..

...and turned them to love buns!

I should've used tabasco sauce for colouring. The it would be the 'spicy hot BBQ Pork buns of love(TM)'!!!

Valentine O Ate

3Willings
1) Guitar Hero 3
2) Jordin Sparks - Shy Boy
3) Computer upgrades
I'm kicking myself.

I was pretty sure I was gonna up the ante on Valentines Day this year.

Something classy.

Maybe a candlelight dinner

with KFC and rice or something.

Sadly my baby and I are on a 'no-fast food diet'. So that's no good.

Plus my baby is far away for work.
I guess you can't have a valentines day date if you don't have a date. Go figure.

Im spending Valentines Day house sitting my girlfriend's house because her family have krabi.

It weird sleeping in this house all alone. Its like she's here but she's not.

Then again, I really should stop going through her things and underwear.

Anyways, here's some photos our last date.

I love the ketchup bottle

Dam! The burgers at FAB are huge!

Angry!!!! How am I suppose to eat that?!

Secrets

Rewind
We were 250km north of Manila, 1500 meters above sea level. It was 2am in Baguio city.
We were stumbling drunk when we got out of the army barracks where we were staying. We needed some fresh air.
Who would have thought Red horse, bubblegum and watermelon lambanog would make for a very potent mix.

That was the night we saw Aubrey.

My companion looked at me.
"saatin lang `to `kay?" [this stays between us okay?']

I nodded.

"How was your cousin's the buck's night"
"It was alright.."
"And.."
"And... what?"
"Details!!!"
*chuckle* "Hehehe. I can't tell.. what happens in a buck's night stays in a buck's night"

I knew it was unfair to snob my girlfriend of the fruity juicy things that happened on my cousin's bucks (stag) night.

But I was just toying with her.

I think its cute when she gets all curious and all.

My cousin's buck night was on a boat. What a prissy way I hold beer.

But honestly, there's nothing really spectacular about that night.

Just the usual debauchery you'd expect when you gather two dozen, twenty-thirty something males add ample alcohol and mix in two half (?) naked blondes.

You can check the videos if you want.

But on that note, I was wondering where couples draw the line on things they tell their partners.

You see, I got an email from a friend. It read,
"dun go telling everyone... keep it down low..."

And suddenly I'm thinking, here's a situation where two different forms of trust (trust with a very close friend and trust with my lovely partner) are coming into conflict.

Cos I love my friends.

And I love my girlfriend.

But is one trust more important than the other?

The river cruise has a throw overboard policy on guys wearing Borat's swimsuit

Let's say hypothetically, I may have done something.
And I made a pact with a friend not to tell anyone.

So as far as everyone in this world is concerned, nothing happened. Well.. not everyone. My friend and I (maybe someone else if they remember) know otherwise.

And if my partner should happen to learn of the things that happened.... well.... it could potentially change things.

Potentially.

So, I'm guessing I should take the 'what she doesn't know won't kill her' approach.

"Bro's before ho's" as put crudely by some guys.

But then once you start hiding things, you're not being honest anymore and that, I know, is a dangerous path to if you want a long, loving, lasting relationship.

Where is that thumb going?

And so my brain goes to fried overdrive.

I need a beer.

And to hold it properly as well.

Reward System

It was only when I saw it used on her little sister did I become aware of her powers.

Kinda like Louise Lane discovering Clark Kent's powers.

Only that my girlfriend is not Superman, and me not Louise Lane.

What I saw was my girlfriend using a reward system on her little sister.

A reward system is a behavioral tool that can be used to brainwash train kids.

It can be of many forms but what my girlfriend made was a chart which listed all the things her little sister needed to do during the week. Every day of good behaviour gets a tick. Get the whole week done and she gets a reward.

The reward is probably a Bratz doll, because eight year old girls idolise skanky girls nowadays.

Of course behavioral tools are not new.
My sister uses stuff she's learned from the "Super nanny" to tame her toddler.

And it works.

My nephew cries at the thought of being banished to the naughty chair.
(Which is strange because adults would jump at the opportunity to be in the naughty chair).

Anyways, I digress.

What surprised me was my girlfriend was using psychological and behavioral control tools to condition her little sister.

And if this works on a 8 year old girl who beats me in Uno, then I'm finding myself increasingly vulnerable to my girlfriends super powers.

Me - very susceptible to mind control
